The tower that gives the resort its name

Historical sources do not fully agree on the exact construction date, but place the tower in the second half of the 16th century.

Over the centuries the structure suffered partial collapses; the name Torre Mozza refers to this ruined condition.

Paduli, dunes and free beach

Torre Mozza is also associated with Spiaggia dei Paduli, close to the wetlands and coastal basins of the Ugento shoreline.

The Municipality of Ugento also identifies a free sandy stretch in contrada Macolone, in the first inlet after the canal bridge south of the tower.

Torre Mozza Beach

The sandy shoreline of Torre Mozza, with a mix of free stretches and beach clubs in front of the small resort and coastal tower. One of the easier Ugento beaches to reach because the village comes close to the sea. Access varies along the shore: use public paths and boardwalks without crossing private concessions.

Paduli Beach

A free, natural beach stretch between Torre Mozza and Lido Marini, linked to the Spunderati basins and the Ugento Coastal Park landscape. Reach it from the coastal road between Torre Mozza and Lido Marini via short approaches to the sea. Use existing paths and do not cut across dunes or vegetation.

Torre Mozza Tower

Historic coastal tower at Ugento’s marina, also recorded as Torre Fiumicelli/Torre dei Fiumi; the structure still shows the losses and collapses behind the name Torre Mozza. The tower is very close to the village and sea and is easy to view externally. Interior access is not assumed: check for openings or works before approaching the structure.
