Porto Miggiano is a genuine tourist landing, not an ordinary beach. Municipal rules describe a slipway, two quays, operational areas and mooring spaces. The bay is scenic, but harbour functions must be respected.

It is reached directly from the Porto Miggiano road network. Quays and slipway are operational areas, so do not occupy manoeuvring, launching or mooring zones and follow the manager’s signs.
If an access point is closed or altered, do not improvise shortcuts: use authorised routes only.
Inside the harbour, seabed and water space are shaped by port use and boats. Swim only in areas expressly permitted and separated from nautical operations; the nearby 100 Steps cove is a separate destination.
Before moving away from shore, identify a safe exit point and do not enter if waves or current exceed your ability.
With small children, choose only spots away from manoeuvring areas and with an easy entry; supervision and sea conditions remain essential.
Before planning the day, consider access, distance from services, crowding and how easy it will be to get back.
The harbour area may have a kiosk and seasonal services linked to the landing, but opening and management change. Parking is limited on busy days, so never block ramps, access or operational vehicles.
Do not leave valuables visible in the car and do not occupy verges, access points or unauthorised spaces.
Harbour surfaces may be more regular than the cliff, but ramps, quays and operational areas are not the same as an accessible bathing route; check which public areas are actually open.
If you have specific mobility needs, check before leaving whether the route is genuinely usable that day.
A harbour is not a swimming pool: propellers, ropes, slippery quays, manoeuvres and boat traffic require care. With children, remain in pedestrian areas away from edges and operations.

Porto Miggiano Tower overlooks the small harbour and bay. Santa Cesarea Terme municipality dates it to the second half of the 16th century and records its defensive and offensive role, including artillery, within the coastal tower system.
Pilane is a rocky stretch of Porto Miggiano where erosion and rock forms create natural pools and platforms close to the sea. It is not a serviced sandy beach and usability changes with wave conditions.
Grotta delle Ancore is a sea cave on the Porto Miggiano coast. The Apulian Speleological Federation catalogue records it in Santa Cesarea Terme at 40.0322500, 18.4451333.
