The beach of Torre Mozza
The regional source describes a long stretch of very fine white sand that slopes gently into clear, shallow water.
Free beaches, beach establishments and tourist facilities alternate along the coast, while the dunes separate the shore from the coastal road.
The tower that gives the resort its name
Historical sources do not fully agree on the exact construction date, but place the tower in the second half of the 16th century.
Over the centuries the structure suffered partial collapses; the name Torre Mozza refers to this ruined condition.
Paduli, dunes and free beach
Torre Mozza is also associated with Spiaggia dei Paduli, close to the wetlands and coastal basins of the Ugento shoreline.
The Municipality of Ugento also identifies a free sandy stretch in contrada Macolone, in the first inlet after the canal bridge south of the tower.
