Torre del Pizzo is the 16th-century coastal tower overlooking the namesake headland in Gallipoli’s regional park. Italy’s Ministry of Culture records its completion in 1569 and its distinctive truncated-cone and cylindrical form. The tower is privately held, so this guide assumes exterior viewing only.

Punta del Pizzo Beach is one of the bathing sectors on the protected Punta Pizzo coastline, where sand and rock alternate. It should not be confused with nearby private beach clubs: free sections exist, while access, parking and services may be separate. The seabed is not uniform, so choose the entry point carefully with children.
Punta Pizzo is the southern headland of the Gulf of Gallipoli within the Isola di Sant’Andrea and Punta Pizzo Regional Nature Park. It is not one single beach: Mediterranean scrub, wetlands, rocky shore and sandy sectors form a protected coastal mosaic. Use established paths and permitted access points.
This is not a classic sandy beach: come for the low rocky shore, clear and often surprisingly cool water, swimming from the rocks and snorkelling on the Ionian stretch between Punta Pizzo and Mancaversa.
