Baia dei Diavoli

Salento, Posto Rosso - Alliste: The Baia dei Diavoli is located in Posto Rosso, a tourist resort in the municipality of Alliste in the province of Lecce. Between the red that gives the marina its name and the devils that characterise the bay, we find an almost perfect affinity. Apart from the various legends that give this marvellous cove its name, we find ourselves in an area characterised by cliffs that fall sheer to the sea, with several points from which to dive, and a clear blue sea that colours this beautiful bay turquoise. To find a fitting oxymoron, we could say that the Baia dei Diavoli is a heavenly spot, suitable for those who love snorkelling. The sea bed mixed between sand and reef lends itself to being visited with all the suggestive plays of light that can be seen between the various crevices of the reefs. The sea becomes deep after just a few strokes, and being pampered by the gentle, perpetual wave motion is a unique pleasure as well as relaxing. The green of the typical Mediterranean scrub colours much of the surrounding area and the area is all in all quiet even in the high season; rock shoes are recommended and care should be taken when the sea is particularly rough, for the rest, happy holidays from Baia dei Diavoli.

Posto Rosso

Salento, Posto Rosso - Alliste: Posto Rosso is a small hamlet in the municipality of Alliste in the province of Lecce; located on the coast road connecting Gallipoli to Santa Maria di Leuca, Posto Rosso is characterised by its low, easily practicable cliffs that end directly in the sea and a beautiful stretch of coastline bathed by the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea. For those who love diving, it will not be difficult to find a spot from which to experience that unique thrill of being thrown into the water in a split second. The entire area of Posto Rosso fills up with tourists and holidaymakers during the summer season; the seabed is a mix of sand and rocks and lends itself marvellously to snorkelling and discovering the beautiful play of light reflected in the ravines of this beautiful coastline. Posto Rosso is also known as Cisternella (small cistern), as there are several freshwater currents along this bay that make the sea, in some places, particularly cold so that it is pleasant to take a swim in the middle of the season to alleviate that sense of discomfort caused by the summer heat. Here there is an air of absolute relaxation, many families and tourists looking for an inviting rock where they can spread their towels and enjoy a relaxing day at the beach. Welcome to Salento and greetings from Posto Rosso.
