Felloniche is one of the seaside resorts of Patù and lies at the southern end of its coast, close to the boundary with Castrignano del Capo. Along the shoreline it connects with San Gregorio and, to the south-east, with Santa Maria di Leuca.

The Municipal Coastal Plan describes Felloniche as the only sandy stretch on the Patù coast, bordered by low rocky shore and without a dune environment.

The Municipal Coastal Plan places Felloniche in the southern part of the Patù territory, about three kilometres from Santa Maria di Leuca.

The bay is the main sandy stretch of the municipal coastline and is bordered by low rocky shore.

Posidonia and the coastal environment

The Municipality reports a large Posidonia oceanica meadow in the sea in front of the coast, important for the ecosystem and the natural protection of the shoreline.

Posidonia leaves accumulating on the shore can form natural banquettes that help reduce beach erosion.

Sea caves towards Leuca

Heading towards Santa Maria di Leuca, the coast is rich in sea caves. Those already documented on Salentissimo include Grotta del Fiume, Grotta del Presepe, Grotta delle Tre Porte, Grotta della Stalla and Grotta del Drago.
