Also known as Li Foggi, this is a free beach in the Regional Natural Park of Sant’Andrea Island and Punta Pizzo coast, south of Gallipoli. Sand, small rocky sections, pinewood and Mediterranean scrub create a natural setting for self-sufficient families, couples and young visitors seeking swimming, snorkelling and sunset.
We keep its natural character, but do not promise quiet in peak summer and carefully distinguish services, parking, accessibility and safety.
Lovers Beach, also known as Li Foggi, is a free stretch within the protected Punta Pizzo landscape. Light sand and Mediterranean vegetation dominate, with rocky edges in places.
Do not confuse it with the nearby Punta della Suina beach club: this is a more natural experience with fewer services.
On sandy parts the entry can be gradual, while near rocks depth and seabed change. Clear water makes it attractive for swimming and looking at the seabed.
With children, choose the sandy section and check the day’s seabed before moving away from shore.
In calm sea the sandy area can work well for families. There are fewer comforts than at a beach club and we have not verified lifeguard coverage for this exact stretch.
Bring shade, water and a hat, supervise closely and check on-site signs for any lifeguard service.
Good for an informal day between sea and pinewood, without a beach-club atmosphere. Snorkelling, walking and sunset are the main attractions.
For bars, music and nightlife, move towards Gallipoli or serviced areas.
Gallipoli municipality created and regulated public parking areas for July–September 2026. Spaces around Li Foggi can fill quickly on busy days.
Follow signs, use authorised areas only and never park on dunes, scrub or service access.
The beach is reached from the Li Foggi/Punta della Suina area via sandy and pinewood paths. The natural surface is not uniform.
Light shoes help on the approach; stay on existing paths to protect dunes and vegetation.
In 2026 Gallipoli supported accessibility measures for free bathing areas, but we found no certification guaranteeing an accessible route to the water at this exact beach.
For specific needs, contact the municipality or choose an explicitly equipped access point.
This is a free natural stretch. Do not plan on a bar, showers, toilets or umbrella rental being immediately available.

The western coast can change significantly with wind and rough sea. A gentle-looking entry on a calm day can become more demanding with waves and undertow.
Observe conditions before entering and never assume the romantic name means the sea is always calm.
