Torre Suda - Racale

The Conca delle Monache is a small artificial pool dug into the rock in the early 1900s between the cliffs of Torre Suda to allow the nuns at the time to take a refreshing swim in peace without being seen. This small pool is connected to the sea through a cave that allows the water to recirculate and can be accessed safely via a stone ladder on one side of this unique pool. Today, the Conca delle Monache has become almost a tourist attraction, so much so that people are eager to take a regenerating bath, the water being particularly cool. The comfort of this small pool is characterised by the fact that even when the sea is particularly rough one can dive in peacefully as the water remains fairly calm. The entire stretch of coastline has low cliffs and the crystal blue sea is a constant throughout the Torre Suda area. Salento beauties that never wane, a greeting from Conca delle Monache.
