The “Second Pool” is the former harbour area

Useful name
“Second Pool of Marina Serra” is the clearest name for finding it and distinguishing it from the main pool, while “former harbour” explains the origin of the basin.
It is not the same as the Natural Pool
The better-known Natural Pool lies a little farther north and is a rocky coastal basin also linked to old local-stone quarries. The Second Pool is instead the former harbour area: two nearby but physically distinct places.

Access from the village and Via Carlo Mirabello
The Second Pool is in the small coastal settlement of Marina Serra, close to Via Carlo Mirabello and a few minutes on foot from the other bathing points. Steps, edges and passages can change and should always be assessed on site.

Use existing access points, do not cross barriers and take care on wet or slippery surfaces.
A sheltered basin, but not a uniform seabed
The shape of the former harbour creates a more enclosed body of water than the open sea. That does not mean depth, footholds and conditions are identical everywhere: the bottom remains coastal and should be checked before entering.
Rock shoes are useful
Rock shoes help on rocky footholds and wet surfaces. With rough seas, always assess water exchange and conditions at the harbour mouth.

Parking: Marina Serra is still a small village
Parking spaces in the village are limited, especially at busy times. A parking area listed on Via Carlo Mirabello is a few minutes on foot from the coast, but availability and rules can change.

In July and August arrive early and always check signs, marked spaces and any charges in force on the day of your visit.
Less famous does not always mean empty
The Second Pool is much less visible online than the Natural Pool, but it is in the same small village and can still be busy on weekends and during the central summer weeks.

Early morning and late afternoon usually make the limited space easier to enjoy, while always checking sea conditions and daylight for the return.

It is mainly a discovery stop: combine it with the Natural Pool and Torre Palane to understand this stretch of coastline better.

Anyone looking for sand, large spaces, natural shade, beach-club services or a completely flat and guaranteed access route in every season.

If you have reduced mobility or specific needs, check the actual access conditions on site before planning to swim.
What to bring
Rock shoes, water, sunscreen, a hat, a light towel and a mask if you want to look at the seabed. Space is limited, so bulky equipment is best avoided.
Travel light
For a combined visit to both pools, a small amount of gear and comfortable footwear for moving between road and rock are enough.
