The Brindisi Coast brings together the coastal areas belonging to the provincial capital: Torre Mattarelle and the Punta della Contessa landscape in the south, and the beaches from the urban and harbour edge to Punta Penne, Torre Testa, Giancola and Apani in the north.

This is not one continuous bathing coast. The harbour and operational areas separate the southern and northern sectors, while cliffs, erosion, protected zones and local measures make it essential to check each access point before visiting.

Understanding the Brindisi Coast

An extensive and discontinuous coast where urban beaches, natural systems, coastal towers and infrastructure coexist along the Adriatic.

Two distinct coastal sectors

South of the city, the coast meets Cerano-Tramazzone Wood, Torre Mattarelle and the Punta della Contessa wetlands. The harbour and industrial system then interrupt the shoreline; the most popular beaches are mainly found on the northern coast.

Beaches of the northern coast

Municipal records identify coves and beaches around Conca, Malcarne, Hemingway, Punta del Serrone, Punta Penne, the former Lido Poste, Sbitri, Acque Chiare, Giancola and Torre Testa. Farther north lies Apani, before the Torre Guaceto area, which remains outside this resort.

Erosion, access and protection

The Torre Testa-Giancola section is affected by erosion and safety works. Access to the shore may therefore change: signs, closures, barriers and official instructions must be respected, and unstable cliff bases must be avoided.
