Five areas, each with its own character
Cisaniello combines a short rocky stretch with a sandy strip as far as the Ostone channel. Bagnara is mainly low and sandy; Conche changes from sand to low calcarenite cliff. Monache is mostly rocky, while Palmintiello combines low rock with a central sandy section.
Dunes, channels and coastal vegetation
Dune ridges and the hollows behind them reveal the coast’s natural evolution. The Ostone channel separates Cisaniello from Bagnara, while the Mascia channel crosses another part of the shoreline. Mediterranean scrub, Aleppo pines, vineyards and fields accompany several sections.
Choosing the right stretch of coast
The shoreline is not uniform: sandy beaches and generally gently shelving water alternate with rock platforms and low rocks. Check access, walking distance from parking and sea conditions, especially with children or visitors with reduced mobility.
