From the Carovigno boundary to the dunes
The coast changes repeatedly: coves and low rocks surround Torre Pozzelle and Costa Merlata; Villanova is the main harbour village; farther north lie bays, sandy shores and the dune landscape around Rosa Marina, Pilone and Fiume Morelli. Twenty separate pages now describe these places.
Villanova, harbour of the White City
Villanova developed around its harbour and coastal castle. It is the central landmark of Ostuni Marina and links the sea with the historic town on the inland hills, overlooking the olive plain towards the Adriatic.
Where Upper Salento meets the Itria Valley
Ostuni is both a Salento town and an eastern gateway to the Itria Valley. The marina therefore closes the Salentissimo.it itinerary naturally, in a transitional landscape where dunes and sea meet ravines, masserie, ancient olive trees and whitewashed architecture.
