Porto Selvaggio’s Green Cave is a sea cave also recorded by the Puglia cave register. Green reflections and clear water make it striking, but its low entrance and swell can make it impassable: it is not a place to reach at any cost.

The cave lies on the southern side of the bay towards Torre dell’Alto. Practical access is from the sea and should only be considered in very calm conditions; there is no simple walking route into the cave.
If an access point is closed or altered, do not improvise shortcuts: use authorised routes only.
Light, limestone and water create the green colour effects. Cooler water linked to coastal springs can be felt in the area, but depth and visibility change with sea conditions.
Before moving away from shore, identify a safe exit point and do not enter if waves or current exceed your ability.
With small children, choose only spots away from manoeuvring areas and with an easy entry; supervision and sea conditions remain essential.

There are no services at the cave. The logical starting area is Porto Selvaggio/Santa Caterina, and any sea outing must be planned around the return route and marine weather.

The setting is natural, with rock and uneven trails. There is no certification allowing the cave approach to be described as barrier-free; visitors with specific mobility needs should use the accessible viewpoints of the park instead.
If you have specific mobility needs, check before leaving whether the route is genuinely usable that day.
Do not enter with swell, surge or increasing wind: a low entrance can become dangerous quickly. Avoid touching or damaging cave walls and do not venture in alone.
If the wind strengthens, reassess your return before conditions worsen.
Best for experienced swimmers, snorkellers or kayakers who can read sea conditions; not suitable for children, uncertain swimmers or days with swell.
Before deciding, pay particular attention to the access and safety cards, as they can completely change the experience.
Less suitable for anyone seeking a sandy beach, easy access and services within a few metres.
