The coast and seafront
Torre Vado overlooks a generally low coast, with rocky stretches and small access points to the sea. Short sandy patches are also found near the harbour.
The resort forms a continuous coastal strip with Posto Vecchio and Pescoluse to the north-west, while the landscape becomes progressively rockier to the south-east.
The coastal tower
The tower dates to the 16th century and is documented at least from 1569. Historical sources also call it Torre della Cala del Patto and Torre di Marciano.
The circular structure belonged to the coastal defensive network and had visual contact with Torre Pali to the north and the tower of San Gregorio to the south.
The small harbour of Torre Vado
The small harbour is protected by piers and is used by fishing and leisure boats.
The Municipality of Morciano di Leuca has carried out planning and works relating to the operation of the basin and management of its seabed.
