A tiny free cove on the Baia dei Turchi coast, with a pocket of pale sand enclosed by low rock and Mediterranean vegetation. It is reached on foot through the wooded landscape and is separate from the main wide beach.
This is a very small natural cove with limited space. Older descriptions called it consistently quiet, uncrowded and quickly deep; it is safer to treat access, depth and crowding as variable and dependent on the day's real conditions.
Caletta di Toraiello is a small inlet with a short sandy section surrounded by rocky coast. It is not a broad continuous beach and usable towel space can be limited.
Sand quantity can change after storms and currents, so do not rely only on older photos.
The final approach is on foot through pine woodland, Mediterranean scrub and coastal paths. Distance and ease depend on where you park and which route is open.
Use existing paths and do not create shortcuts through vegetation or dunes.
Bosco Baia dei Turchi belongs to the regional Alimini forest complex and lies within the IT9150011 Alimini conservation site. Vegetation, soil and fire risk all require care.

Toraiello is a natural access. Private beach businesses exist in the wider Baia dei Turchi area, but bars, toilets, showers, hire and assistance should not be assigned automatically to this cove.

Recent municipal rules restrict vehicle access and parking in woodland and on unauthorised unpaved tracks. Municipal parking in Otranto is regulated and paid during the period stated by the local authority.
Use authorised parking only and expect a final walk.
We found no assisted-bathing service specifically for Caletta di Toraiello. The woodland approach and small cove can present substantial barriers.
