Grotta dello Zingaro is a cave in the Roca Vecchia cliff, along the stretch linking the small coves with the archaeological sector. It is not a serviced beach; it is mainly a natural site to approach with care.

The small coves outside remain separate coastal places, but on-site signs, barriers and local orders must always be respected.
Reach it from the Roca area using existing coastal paths; the ground is rocky and uneven. We do not recommend cliff shortcuts or independent entry into tunnels or cavities.
If an access point is closed or altered, do not improvise shortcuts: use authorised routes only.
Rocky coast, caves and uneven seabed: depth can increase quickly and waves enter the rock openings. If swimming, stay outside the caves and only in calm conditions.
Before moving away from shore, identify a safe exit point and do not enter if waves or current exceed your ability.
With small children it should be assessed carefully: access, coastline type and sea conditions can make it demanding. With older children, the choice depends on experience and the spot used.
Before planning the day, consider access, distance from services, crowding and how easy it will be to get back.
For parking, water and refreshments use Roca Vecchia and businesses along the SP366. There are no dedicated services inside the cave and no specific “cave car park”.
Do not leave valuables visible in the car and do not occupy verges, access points or unauthorised spaces.
The coastal path and rocks are not barrier-free; this is not a suitable destination for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
If you have specific mobility needs, check before leaving whether the route is genuinely usable that day.
Avoid jumping, cliff edges and exploring sea tunnels without a guide. With waves or strong wind the cave area quickly becomes less safe.
If the wind strengthens, reassess your return before conditions worsen.

Shoes with good grip, water and sun protection; take a mask only for calm sea and remain outside the caves.

For years it was remembered mainly for people jumping into the natural pool. Today the experience is different: Poesia is visited as part of the Roca Vecchia archaeological area, with regulated access and no entry into the water.
Roca Vecchia Tower, also known as Torre di Maradico, is the ruin of a 16th-century coastal tower on the islet in front of the ancient settlement. It is a historic and scenic monument, not a beach or a place to reach by swimming.
Grotta della Madonnina is a local name associated with a cave on the Roca Vecchia coast. The institutional sources we checked describe Roca’s caves and coves but do not publish verified coordinates for this particular cave, so the map marks the Roca Vecchia area rather than a certified entrance.
A small rocky inlet at Roca Vecchia, close to the ancient walls and Grotta della Poesia: clear water and an interesting seabed, but on a fragile coastline where cliff warnings and current restrictions must be checked before entering the sea.
Portulignu is the small natural landing place preserved in Roca Vecchia’s local place names. The cove combines sand and rock and is compact: attractive for a stop, but with little room when crowds build.
A compact sea access on the Roca Vecchia coast, mainly rocky but with small sandy pockets that may change after storms: clear water, natural inlets and good snorkelling in calm conditions.
Canale Zzuccatu is a small inlet in the Roca Vecchia area. The word “beach” should not suggest a broad sandy shore: the landscape combines rock, small sandy deposits and coastal vegetation.
The “Castle” of Roca Vecchia is the fortified-ruins sector overlooking the archaeological peninsula. It is not an intact castle: walls and structures record a long history from the Bronze Age to the late-medieval settlement.
Zolfara is a small cove on the Roca Vecchia coast, north of the archaeological area. It is a natural place distinct from nearby private businesses: the presence of Rokamel beach club nearby does not make the whole cove private.
Two small coastal basins in the inhabited heart of Roca Vecchia, linked to the sea through the rocky shore and used for bathing for generations. The smaller basin also has a local history of hand-made changes to its access and bottom.
